Mar. 27—The demolition of the old Brookhaven Middle School moved to its north end last week where the gym stood, and a statement from 3M said the process of removing the building and "creating an interim green space" could be complete in midsummer. Earlier this year, the company said the 15 acres on which the school sits could possibly be used for a park that might include splash pads, a playground, picnic areas and athletic facilities. But the company is still conducting a comprehensive study to help it develop a final remediation plan for the site, Grant Thompson, a spokesman for the company, said Friday.
